 Nancy Alexander, QC

Nancy is the head coach of the Les Pirouettes Juvenile, Novice and Junior teams. She is also a choreographer for synchronized skating teams.  As a skater she competed with Les Pirouettes at an international level for almost 10 years. She is currently studying at the Coaching National Institute to obtain her NCCP level 5.

Laura Baker, Skate Canada High Performance Analyst

Laura coordinates domestic and international assignments for Synchronized Skating officials and facilitates promotions of our Canadian and International officials to the ISU level. 

Jennifer Beauchamp-Crichton, WO

Jennifer is the NEXXICE Novice and Intermediate team coach and was a skater (captain of NEXXICE Senior from 2000-2011).   Jennifer is the athlete ambassador for the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships 2015.

Renee coordinates technical programming for Synchronized Skating in the Learn to Compete (Novice, Open, Intermediate) and Train to Compete (Junior and Senior) stages of LTAD.

Jennifer Betts, AB/NT/NU

Jennifer has been involved with synchronized skating for over 35 years starting as a skater.  Besides her ongoing involvement as a judge and technical official she works as a moderator for our judging workshops, assists with moderating trial judges and technical officials (phase 2) and has taken on the synchronized skating official position on the AB/NT/NU Section Evaluator/Judge committee.

Andrew Bosco, WO

Andrew is a former synchronized skater at the National level, International level Judge, National level Technical Controller and Referee.  Andrew is also a member and synchronized skating representative on the Technical Coordinating Committee.

Josée Bourdon, Skate Canada Senior Coaching Manager

Josée manages the technical design, development, and implementation of competitive and high performance coach training and education programs via the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP), National Coach Apprenticeship Program (NCAP), and National Coaches Conference (NCC). Josée is also leading the development of a National Mentorship Program that will be offered to coaches from grassroots to high performance in all skating disciplines.

Joline Bowditch, SK

Joline has coached Synchronized Skating for 20 years.  She currently coaches in a small town club of 100 members Beginner II, Elementary, Pre Novice and Adult III.  She also skates on the adult team and has fulfilled the many roles of a team manager.

Becky Brooks, NO

Becky has experience skating on many teams up to Junior and Adult teams. She has been a manager, treasurer, Regional Synchronized Skating committee member as well as being on the Section Synchronized Skating Committee for 15 years.  She has had an interest in officiating as well as coaching.  Currently she is a parent of a Synchronized Skater and a member of a small Northern club.

Patricia Chafe, Skate Canada Chief Sport Officer

In her role as CSO, Patricia overseas all development activities for the sport – athlete/team, coach and officials as well as the delivery of national competitions.  Patricia’s passion for synchronized skating stems from her participation as an athlete for many years, followed by her work as a team manager for her varsity synchronized skating team (precision at the time!).

Cathy Dalton, CO

Cathy is a Senior Synchronized Skating team Coach, ISU Technical Specialist with extensive experience at all levels including being a member of the ISU Synchronized Skating Technical Committee.  She has worked with many levels including: Elementary, Juvenile, Novice, Junior and Senior.

Irene Gryniewski, CO

Irene has been involved in Synchronized Skating for over 20 years as a skater, coach and manager. As a youth she skated on a junior team and was an assistant coach for a Juvenile team. As an adult she came back to Synchronized Skating as a skater, then taking over as manager and has grown the Ice Precise organization from one team of 11 skaters to 3 successful teams representing all adult categories. Most recently she has joined the COS board as Director of programs responsible for Synchro, Programs and Adult.

Julie Healy, Skate Canada Sport Development Director

Julie brings a wealth of experience from 30+ years of working in sport, and has experienced success in the university, national and international sport system. She was a college & university hockey & field hockey player, which lead her to becoming a coach and a sport administrator for a number of sports including women’s hockey. 

In her role as Manager of Team Services for the Canadian Olympic Committee Skate Canada was one of the NSOs she guided in Sochi, which led her to the current role she as the Director of Sport Development at Skate Canada. She is tasked with leading a team of staff with the execution of Skate Canada events, as well as leading a team with the development of the infrastructure that will support a part of Skate Canada’s LTAD.

Lindsay Hillier, NL

Most recently Lindsay has skated on the Mount Pearl-Paradise Open Starlites for 3 years now and has been involved in synchronized skating since the 2004-2005 season. She has been a manager of a number of teams and has assisted in coaching a Pre-Novice team and has co-managed a team while skating on it. She is currently the Newfoundland and Labrador Coaches' Representative and is a member of the Mount Pearl-Paradise Skating Club (just outside of St. John's) which is the second largest club in the province.  Synchronized skating is growing at the club and in the Section as there is currently a Beginner, Elementary, Juvenile, Pre-Novice, Open and Adult team. 

Colleen Laferriere, BC/YT

Colleen is a long time Synchronized Skating coach as she has been coaching synchronized skating for over 25 years (since Synchronized Skating was introduced in BC/YT).  This year she has coached a Beginner 1, Elementary, Juvenile, Pre-Novice and Adult III teams in a small club and town located in a low income area. 

Josiane Lamond, QC

Josiane has been involved in coaching Synchronized Skating for more than 15 years. Since retiring from being a head coach Josiane has worked as a consultant for many teams in Quebec including Les pirouettes Junior, Novice, Juvénile and Nova Novice, Juvénile and Elementary.  She was involved in monitoring and choreography sessions as well as creating choreography in other parts of Canada as well as in France.  Josiane is also a well-known skating dress designer.

Marilyn Langlois, QC

Marilyn coaches the Junior and Senior Les Supremes.   She is also a qualified Technical Specialist.

Monica Lockie, Skate Canada NPC Director – Toronto

Monica, a coach with over 30 years’ experience is serving as our National Performance Centre Director. She has coached many disciplines including synchronized skating and brings a wealth of knowledge from a LTAD, coach development and skating program perspective.

Kathy MacKowski, WO

Kathy is an ISU Synchro Technical Specialist and a National level Technical Specialist/Technical Controller most recently on the panel at the Junior World Championships in Croatia. She is a NCCP level 2 and 3 Synchronized Skating Learning Facilitator. Kathy has assisted Skate Canada in many Synchronized Skating projects and developments.

Julie MacNeil, PE

Julie is a coach at small club with 30+ years experience coaching all disciplines of skating.  She has coached all levels of Synchronized Skating that PEI has to offer. In the past she has taken Island teams to Regional and National events.

Nikki Magnowski, MB

Nikki is a skater and team manager of University of Manitoba Ice Intrepid from the St. Andrews skating club.

Mary Ellen McDonald, MB

Mary Ellen has been involved in Synchronized Skating for over 30 years experiencing the sport as an official, adult skater as well as being on Sectional and National Synchro Committees during this time. Currently she is a member of the Skate Canada Board of Directors, is the Manitoba Synchro Coordinator and is one of the four Synchronized Skating officials in the province. 

Heather McMahon, Skate Canada Skating Program Coordinator

Heather coordinates technical programming for Synchronized Skating in the non-qualifying levels for Skate Canada including Learn to Skate, Learn to Train and Active for Life stages of LTAD (Beginner I, Beginner II, Juvenile, Elementary, Pre-Novice, Adult I, Adult II and Adult III).

Joni McPhail, CO

Joni has been involved in synchronized skating for the past four years and is the Skating Director of Skate Oakville. The club has grown from had 6 to 11 teams in the last four years with teams from Beginner I to Junior and including one adult team. The club has hosted COS Synchro Capers -  one of the largest synchro competitions in the country the past 3 years and will continue to act as the permanent hosts for this event. 

Angela Malorni, QC

Angela is the head coach for Les Supremes Novice.  She is also a Junior & Senior sport psychologist consultant and has been a Juvenile assistant coach and skater (co-captain for Les Supremes Senior from 2005-2009).  She has
worked with other clubs in Quebec  and Canada as well as in France as a consultant.

Carol Moir, WO

Carol is the WO Skating Programs Coordinator and Section Office Synchronized Skating contact. She is a coach at the IIlderton Skating Club.  IIlderton Skating Club is the 8th largest club out of 113 clubs in WO with a membership of 463.  There are 7 registered synchro teams in the club with 1 learn-to-synchro skate team. 

Jo-Anne Phelps, CO

Jo-Anne has been involved with Synchronized skating since the late 1970s. She was the parent of a senior Synchronized skater from 1993 -2010 and has been the Section Synchro Co-ordinator from 1998 to 2015.

Meredith Rocchi, EO

Meredith is currently coaching Elementary, Pre-Novice, Intermediate, Adult II, and Adult III teams as well as skating on an Adult I team.  She has also been on the LOC for the EO SynchroSkate Competition for the last three years.

Michelle Rowein, AB/NT/NU

Michelle has 13 years’ experience as a synchronized skater in the junior and senior categories in Western Canada. traveling internationally.  Michelle has been coaching for 17years with experience with Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Pre-Novice, Novice, Junior Festival, Open, Intermediate, Adult, Adult Festival, Adult I & II.  She coaches in an average sized standalone Synchronized Skating club.

Leslie Rupp, BC/YT

Leslie has coached Synchronized Skating since 1981 and has had teams compete at Nationals from 1984-2011 at the Novice and Junior level.  She has experience coaching teams at international competitions.  Leslie is currently starting over with Beginner to Pre-Novice teams at the Lower Mainland Synchronized Skating Club that is a six team club that started with just one in 1981.

Sabrina Scott Van dew Pluijm, NB

Sabrina currently coaches Pre-Novice, Elementary and Beginner I synchronized skating teams in a small rural club.  She coordinates all of the training, fundraising and activities in the club for synchronized skating.  She competed as a competitive senior level ice dancer and never did synchronized skating before teaching it. 

Shelley Simonton Barnett, WO

Shelley is the NEXXICE Senior team coach and director of NEXXICE Synchronized Skating Teams.

Chris Stokes, CO

Chris is currently working with Oakville Open and Streetsville-Meadowvale Elementary and Juvenile.  He is the COS Coaching Representative and is a Technical Controller and Technical Specialist.  He had the opportunity to coach Team South Africa Senior from 1996 – 2008.

Megan Svistovski, MB

I am currently coaching a Beginner I  team, Juvenile team and assist with an Open team.  Two are rural (less than 40 members in the club) and one is urban.  I was a skater skating on teams from Juvenile to Junior, then Open and was skater when it was still "Precision".  I am a Provincial Certified coach, and working to complete my Level 3 in Synchronized Skating.  I currently work with Skate Canada Manitoba as the Program Coordinator.

Susan Thistle, NL

Susan has been involved in Synchronized Skating since 1998 when she skated on an Adult team. She has also managed a club team as it progressed from a Juvenile team to an Intermediate team and has held the position of Synchronized Coordinator of the NL Section (2010 to present).  There are many challenges for teams in Newfoundland and Labrador including rural clubs with short season, limited competition opportunities, distance to travel within the province, cost of travel to competitions outside of the province.  Despite the many challenges Synchronized Skating is thriving in Newfoundland and Labrador. 

Susan Waldal, SK

Susan Waldal has been a club executive, team manager, skater, coach, official and a member of the Section Board of Directors.

Meredith Warner, Skate Canada Officials Development Coordinator

Meredith manages the recruitment, development and continuing education of our domestic officials in all disciplines.  As a former Skating Programs Coordinator she oversaw the Synchronized Skating program portfolio for five years. She is a Section Level Synchronized Skating Technical Specialist.

Traci Wells, WO

Traci is the coach of an Open Synchronized Skating team.

Ann Young, NS

Ann is a Synchronized Skating Coach with experience with Beginner I, Beginner II, Elementary and Intermediate teams at different clubs.   She has had an Intermediate team attend Nationals twice.
