Section B - Qualifying and Championship Events - National Synchronized Skating Championships - 630 Official is Unable to Complete Their Duties

  1. If, after the start of an event, a judge becomes unable to complete his or her duties, that judge’s marks shall be counted up until the time at which they are no longer able to officiate. There shall be no A replacement judge will be appointed of that judge for the remaining segments of the event.
  2. If, in an emergency, the panel is reduced to five judges, the technical representative shall appoint a replacement judge from those judges present and qualified to officiate. If no such replacement exists, the referee shall also judge. If the referee is already judging, the competition may be suspended at the discretion of the technical representative in consultation with the Skate Canada representative.
  3. If, during the course of an event, the referee or technical controller becomes unable to officiate, the technical representative shall replace the official with a qualified replacement.
    1. If no qualified replacement technical controller is present and available, a national or higher level technical specialist may be appointed as the replacement. If no such person is present and available, a section level technical controller may be appointed as a replacement. If no such person is present and available, the assistant technical specialist shall assume the duties of the technical controller and if possible, a section level technical specialist shall be appointed assistant technical specialist. If this is not possible, the technical panel shall be composed of two people.
    2. If no qualified replacement referee is present and available, a national or higher level judge who is also qualified as a section referee may be appointed as a replacement.
    3. If a replacement referee or technical controller is found, that person shall assume those duties for the remaining segments of the event.
  4. If, during the course of an event, the technical specialist or assistant technical specialist becomes unable to officiate, the technical representative shall appoint a replacement from all national level or higher technical specialists present and qualified to officiate. If no such person is present and available, a national or higher level technical controller may be appointed as a replacement. If no such person is present and available, a section level technical specialist or technical controller may be appointed. If no such person is available, the technical panel shall be composed of two people. If necessary, the assistant technical specialist shall assume the duties of the technical specialist. If a replacement technical specialist is found, that person shall assume those duties for the remaining segments of the event.
  5. If, in an emergency, the technical panel is reduced to only one official, the competition may be suspended at the discretion of the technical representative in consultation with the Skate Canada representative.
