2016-2017 Technical Q&A#4 Synchronized Skating (January 26, 2017)

Travelling Wheel

Please clarify the requirements for the travelling wheel extra feature: “two 360° rotations executed one after the other”.

The Traveling Wheel feature of 'two (2) 360 degree rotations executed one after the other' may only contain rotating linking steps.  This has been in discussion lately, and has been clarified by the ISU Technical Committee. Therefore, for all Skate Canada domestic events, only rotating linking steps will be awarded for the feature, as per ISU requirements.

For example: a 'step forward, mohawk, cross, step forward, mohawk cross' will not be acceptable since the 'step forward' is considered a non-rotating linking step.  Barrel turns or 3 turns should be used instead"
